Quite a few people have asked me about trainers and whether they need new ones, so I thought I would put together a small article covering the basics. Feel free to ask me any questions.
Choosing the right running shoe
Remember, all Stotfold Runners receive a 10% discount from the Hatfield branch of Sweatshop.
Its worth looking at the nike plus shoes (assuming they suit)
then you can add a sportband + sensor in the shoe and keep a simple track of pace, distance, calories and time and upload it to http://www.nike.com and log your progress set challenges and mark routes
on a map etc
I find it really useful

Logging your progress is an excellent way to keep your motivation, particularly against set goals. I have never run in Nike before so cannot comment, although I do know you can get “unofficial” straps to enable the Nike sensor to go in any shoe.
As for logging runs etc, I cannot speak highly enough of http://www.fetcheveryone.com – it is free, and allows you log every run, keeps a track of pace, mileage, predicts times for races etc.
